cultural differences:

*high school boys wear hello kitty sandals to the mall, as well as hair clips holding their bangs back. and they aren't little hair clips either. they are similar to the ones that a hairdresser would use.

*every child loves sushi, even as young as two years old. as for peanut butter, most would rather eat dirt.

*dental and medical care are light years behind. (if you have a cavity, your tooth is pulled. you don't go to the gyno unless you have a problem, yearly pap smears are unheard of. with wisdom teeth you have two options, get put to sleep and stay in the hospital for four days, OR don't get put to sleep, be out in a day, and have excruciating pain.)

*middle age business men riding their bikes to work, suitcase included. monks are also seen riding their bikes around town.
