My Aunt Maggie and Grandmother Florence came down from Philly and New York to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. The next Saturday, Mom, Dad, Auntie, Grandma and I went to the Calloway Gardens light show (pictures to come), on the way we stopped off to have dinner. Before dinner we went to some hot springs that FDR used to frequent.

sundays are my favorite days
Last Sunday Andy and I went to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta to see the DaVinci Exhibit. Well that is what he wanted to see. I went for the Alec Soth exhibit, which did not let me down. His color palate is right on, and the sensitivity he has towards his subjects always inspires me to think the same way. There is another photography exhibit currently on display called Look Again, it is a sneak into their vaults, they bring out the old/new masters for us to reconsider. As well as the age old dialog of what a photograph could, should and does mean. Oh, us photographers! Just secret magicians and cowards behind one eye. The exhibit is hidden in the basement, and well worth the search.

mason murer
Last Friday night, Sunni and I attended an opening at the Mason Murer Gallery in Atlanta. Mason Murer is a giganormous space in the northern part of Atlanta, I could not even give you an estimate on how many artists's work it holds. I went to shoot some images for a photo tour for burnaway.org, and Sunni was kind enough to join me and lend me her camera! Jeremy was there as well, below is his short blurb illustrated by my photos. (look out for Sunni and her raspberry beret!)
Burnaway: Mason Murer November Shows
And a few pictures that didn't make the grade, but that I thought should be shared with the world.

how could i forget?
Whitney pointed out to me a few weeks back, that in my awesome-shows-that-I-saw-in-October-post I neglected to include a certain Mr. Steve Martin!!! He played at Chastain and being always the showman that he is, kept his audience attention with witty one liners, and old comedy gags. He even blessed the air with some of his own vocals, on my favorite song of the evening "Late For School".
ps. click here to see what our favorite blue heaven jerk has to say for himself...which is quite blue and jerky.

the workers in song
Oh America! I love you and all of your traveling bards! Grace me with your wanderings and let me partake and bask in your musings!
Regina Spektor at the Tabernacle....adorable beyond words. She seriously was a sugar cube with arms and red lips and a crazy insane powerhouse voice.

And the granddaddy of the workers in song....Mr. Leonard Cohen. I can barely describe my experience seeing the master at work, (especially since I thought it would never happen). His voice was/is as capable as ever. Don't let his seventy five earth years fool you, this guy can STILL rock....can STILL capture the attention of a packed out Fox Theatre for THREE HOURS. He did not even need an opening act. He arrived at 8pm sharp just like he promised. I think that I did fall a lot in love with him, all over again. If you have the chance to see him before he gets off this tour, I implore you....it is WORTH it and then some.
